As another year draws to a close, it is time for ESB to express our gratitude to all of those who have contributed to make this year great: from our team, who worked hard and received the prestigious Honoree award at CES 2018, to our strong partners and our loyal and new clients who always give us the possibility to improve and develop new concepts, as was done for ZEG – BULLS and PEDEGO, to their enthusiastic dealers, who ride towards innovation and, last but not least, to e-bike users and lovers. This is ESB bike year in review:
January 9th, Las Vegas (NV, USA) – SITAEL is the only Italian company awarded as CES 2018 Innovation Awards Honoree, thanks to its MAT (Magnetic Assisted Tap) for electric bikes. Standing out in the Vehicle Intelligence and Self-Driving Technology category, MAT is a new concept of smartphone holder docking station transforming e-bike into a fully connected vehicle that, thanks to ESB software technology and GPS/GPRS modules, offers unique features: enhanced cockpit, navigator, real-time vehicle control & monitoring, anti-theft system, mobile wireless and USB charger.
‘It’s a great result for our team‘ says Matteo Pertosa, Head of Industrial & IoT Division, ‘SITAEL’s vision to provide unique and innovative technology to protect and engage users reaches its highest expression with MAT, which defines a new level of cycling in one single gesture.’
March 12, Brussels (Belgium) – The European Cyclists’s Federation asks SITAEL to contribute with an article to their Smarter Cycling Series column.
Founded in 1983, the European Cyclists’s Federation includes 74 national cycling organizations and represents the most important federation in this field, with the aim “to promote cycling as a sustainable and healthy means of transportation and recreation”.
Under their section dedicated to cycling experts and forerunner services and products providers and their views, SITAEL talks about the role of technology in e-Mobility and reveals the secret of the high degree of innovation that earned ESB and MAT the prestigious Honoree title at CES 2018 Innovation Awards.
July 10, Friedrichshafen (Germany) – SITAEL masters its Connectivity Systems Integration skills and conquers the attention of e-Mobility partners at Eurobike Show 2018.
Thanks to its strong experience of many years in electronics design in different fields and to the deep knowledge in software development and system integration, SITAEL meets varied technical requirements and creates efficient products characterized by a customizable User Experience.
In addition to the new UX-based features presented at Eurobike (crash detection, enhanced ticketing system, motor setup, tutorials etc), the involvement of SITAEL in the “Bikesharing Danmark” project proves it with the development of a renewed Copenhagen bike-sharing system.
August 25, Vienna (Austria) – “Another stolen bike. Can you track it down?” was the message that ESB team received from the owner of a Yoom Connected eBike, the CEO of Vienna archdiocese’s Caritas. Thanks to the anti-theft functionality enabled on his smartphone, he received an immediate alert message via app when the bike was displaced form its original position. ESB managed to track the GPS signal and communicated the coordinates to the Austrian Police, who found the e-bike together with a van of stolen goods and took the thief into custody.
“Only with the help of the tracking service we had been able to get on track of the stolen bike.” claimed the Caritas Wien CEO.
September 28, California (USA) – Already defined the number one brand sold in the United States, PEDEGO Electric Bikes launches worldwide its Connected e-Bikes and confirms itself amongst the most innovative companies operating in the industry.
The decision of integrating the whole fleet of e-bikes (including cruisers, tandems, commuters, fat-tire bikes, mountain bikes, folding and cargo bikes) highlights PEDEGO’s trust in the proved experience of SITAEL: this strong collaboration aims at meeting users’ requirements and at offering them innovative and useful features.
The Smart Technology of ESB retrieves Diagnostic and Geolocation data from the e-bike, sends them online via cloud technology and creates helpful information for both the manufacturer and the end-users, thus providing an enhanced vehicle control and a reinvented riding experience.
November 9, Cologne (Germany) – Following up on the unveiling of the 2019 models during the latest ZEG Bike Show (July), BULLS Connected e-Bikes, integrated with ESB bike electronics, collected high interest and created meaningful curiosity among the participants at the eBike Days 2018, an annual private event dedicated to the growing trend of electric bikes (2023 forecast: 40 million sold ebikes).
During the daily Seminar on Technology with its international partners Brose and BMZ, ESB illustrated the characteristics of connected batteries with GPS/GPRS modules and presented the BULLS Connected eBike app that can satisfy, with its features, different user targets: from cyclo turists to city commuters, to e-MTB and Cross e-Bikes lovers.
